I started 3DSyrup as a way to combine two things I care about — 3D printing and drone training. As a Firefighter, drone program coordinator, and LEDA-certified NIST proctor, I spend a lot of time running pilots through proficiency testing, and I got tired of test lanes that were either too expensive, too bulky, or just not built for the field.

So I designed and printed my own: the 3D-Printed NIST Open Test Lane Kit — a scaled, portable version of the official NIST Open Test Lane, built to NIST Open Test Lanes 1-3 spec so it gives you repeatable, accurate scoring for pilot proficiency and flight control testing.


What's in the Kit

Everything ships in a rugged carrying case and snaps together without tools. I print and assemble every kit myself, in-house, so I can keep quality control tight and turnaround quick. The components are lightweight enough to pack out to a field site but durable enough to hold up to repeated setup, teardown, and transport — which matters when you're running the same drill every week.
